Wedding Bells Magazine on Stands Now!
I am thrilled to be featured in this seasons Wedding Bells Magazine for Ottawa, Montreal and Atlantic Canada.  They have included a beautiful description of my work and a few pictures for
everyone to enjoy. Please read it on Page 31. This is VERY exciting!!!!!
Synthetic Blooms
I have been working with alot of clients this spring filling their urns and making wreaths for their doors.
The interesting this is that it has been all Fake Flowers. I know, I know, I am suppose to call them artificial or synthetic but either way these are not fresh flowers.
My clients have been telling me they love the way a tailored entrance looks but they are
too busy and find it too difficult to maintain containers at the front door. Clients who go to the cottage for days can not have plants that need attention. Some of these installs have been corporate clients who are looking for a no maintenance professional look so they can focus their attention on other aspects of their business.
This is understandable. Often in the heat of the summer, plants in containers need to be watered every day.
Dead heading faded blooms is time consuming and once a planter gets burnt by the sun and heat it likely needs to be replaced. I have other clients who have the opposite problem. They want something decorative on their front porch but the sun never touches the planters so plants do not thrive there.
There are many options open to people from UVB protected artificial Geraniums to Boxwood Topiary Spheres.
These are designs that will last through many summer seasons with very little care and maintenance.

Brookstreet Hotel

This week I was working on a project at The Brookstreet Hotel. A beautiful hotel in Ottawa that features the amazing Perspectives Restaurant and Au Natural Spa on site. I was redesigning their artificial arrangements for a creative and unique look to enhance the Guest Services area as well as Au Natural Spa. The attention to detail that Brookstreet has is obvious when you walk through the doors. Every aspect of this hotel is styled with a creative eye and their artificial florals are no exception. These arrangements for Brookstreet were designed with natural elements as the hotel is finished with beautiful nature based finishes.

Manzanita Branches that have been weathered by the sand storms of the Arizona Desert were hung horizontally for the wall hanging containers. Lengths of Bamboo were cut to create levels in the arrangement for the spa. Fantastic green balls were placed in that design to add a bright, fun touch in the calming surroundings of Au Natural Spa. My favorite saying was overheard that day

"I have never seen anything like it".

Not only because I want to constantly be designing in a creative and current way but also because my clients deserve to have unique floral arrangements that are custom to their environments.

Please check out more photos or go see Brookstreet!
